Daftar Tilik Penyerahan Naskah

Penulis yang ingin memasukkan naskah harus memperhatikan poin-poin di bawah ini. Jika naskah tidak sesuai dengan persyaratan yang telah dicantumkan, ada kemungkinan naskah tersebut akan dikembalikan.
  • Naskah belum pernah diterbitkan sebelumnya, dan tidak sedang dalam pertimbangan untuk diterbitkan di jurnal lain (atau sudah dijelaskan dalam Komentar kepada Editor).
  • File naskah dalam format dokumen OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, atau RTF.
  • Referensi yang dapat diakses online telah dituliskan URL-nya.
  • Naskah diketik dengan teks 1 spasi; font 12; menggunakan huruf miring, bukan huruf bergaris bawah (kecuali alamat URL); dan semua ilustrasi, gambar, dan tabel diletakkan dalam teks pada tempat yang diharapkan, bukan dikelompokkan tersendiri di akhir naskah.
  • Naskah mengikuti aturan gaya selingkung dan bibliografi yang disyaratkan dalam Panduan Penulis.

Panduan Penulis

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The manuscripts submitted to Buitenzorg: Journal of Tropical Science must be original and not have been published previously in any scientific journal, nor be under review for publication elsewhere. If authors decide to withdraw the manuscript during the review process, they must provide a letter with the reasons and withdraw it from Buitenzorg: Journal of Tropical Science. The journal uses a similarity check program to prevent any potential plagiarism.
2. Authors with initials in their names should specify their contribution to the manuscript. The categories include study design, data acquisition, data analysis, data interpretation, manuscript drafting, critical review/revision, and others. This information should be declared in Form A.
3. Buitenzorg: Journal of Tropical Science accepts equal contribution from multiple first authors. The journal also allows multiple corresponding authors for one article, but only one author should communicate with the editorial office.
4. Form A is a document that outlines the conditions authors must comply with when submitting their manuscript to BJTS, including author responsibility, publication fee, author contributions, disclosure of conflicts of interest, and copyright transfer agreement.
5. Manuscripts must not conflict with bioethical research.
6. The journal accepts manuscripts covering a wide range of topics in tropical sciences, including tropical biodiversity, agriculture, biology, ecology, environmental science, forestry, climate, and health sciences.
7. Buitenzorg: Journal of Tropical Science is published twice a year in March and September.
8. Manuscripts and Form A should be submitted electronically through the online system provided at https://journal.icts.or.id/index.php/bjts/index.

MANUSCRIPT FILE
1. All manuscripts submitted to the Buitenzorg: Journal of Tropical Science must be written in Indonesian or English using standard scientific language. However, the abstract should be written in both languages (Non- Indonesian Author will be provide to translate the abstract).
2. Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word format, with graphs created using the Microsoft Excel program and figures in either JPEG or PDF format.
3. Manuscripts must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, except for the title, tables, title of graphs/figures, and appendix, which should be single-spaced.
4. Manuscripts should be prepared on A4 paper with 3 cm margins on all four sides, and must be between 12-20 pages in length.
5. Tables, graphs, and figures should be placed after the references in the manuscript.
6. Page numbers and line numbers should be used in the manuscript.
7. Manuscripts should be organized in the following order: title, name of author(s) and their institutions, abstract, introduction, methods (for socio-economic studies), materials and methods (for non-socio-economic studies), results, discussion, conclusion, conflict of interest, acknowledgment (if any), and references.


CONTENT OF MANUSCRIPTS
1. The title of the article should be concise, specific, and informative, with a maximum of 14 words, and each word should be capitalized.
2. Author names should be listed as references.
3. The name and full address of the institution(s) where the research was conducted, including the institution/department, city, country, and corespondency e-mail, should be provided.
4. The abstract should be written in English, in a single paragraph, and no more than 250 words. It should provide a clear statement of the introduction, objective, methods, results/significance of the findings, and conclusion, without any references.
5. Keywords should be limited to no more than 5 words or phrases.
6. The introduction should provide a brief background of the research, state of the art, novelty, and objective(s), supported by references and no more than 2 pages. Extensive discussion of relevant literature should be included in the discussion section, not the introduction.
7. Materials and Methods:
a) It should provide a clear description of biological, analytical, and statistical procedures that can be repeated by other researchers. Original method/procedure references must be stated, and all modifications of procedures (if any) should be explained.
b) Authors should ensure that studies involving animals are performed in compliance with animal ethics and welfare regulations. A letter containing the name of the ethics authority and the approval number should be attached to the method.
c) Information on commercial products and equipment used in the research should be stated clearly, including commercial name, product/equipment specification, city, and country.
d) Appropriate statistical methods should be used, with emphasis on the biological mechanism. The statistical model, classes, blocks, and experimental unit must be designated. Consultation with a statistician is recommended to ensure correct and adequate statistical methods.
8. Results:
a) Data should be presented in Tables or Figures when possible. There should be no duplication of data in Tables and Figures. Sufficient and comprehensive data with an index of variation (SEM pool) and significance level (e.g., p<0.01) should be presented.
b) The text should explain or elaborate the tabular data, but numbers should not be repeated extensively within the text.
9. The discussion should be consistent, clear, and concise, interpreting the results and addressing the biological mechanisms and their significance with suitable literature. The discussion should show the relevance between the results and the field of investigation and/or hypotheses.
10. The conclusion should be brief, reflecting the experimental results obtained and answering the objective of the research. The implication of results should be added, stating what the findings of this research imply for animal production and/or biology.
11. The Conflict of Interest should be clearly stated in the manuscript, clarifying that there is no conflict of interest with any financial, personal, or other relationships with other people or organizations related to the material discussed in the manuscript.
12. Acknowledgments (if any) to the person(s) or institution(s) who helped with the experiment should be stated, including the name and number of the project.
