Plagiarism Policy

Buitenzorg: Journal of Tropical Science takes plagiarism very seriously and considers it unacceptable.

The following practices are considered plagiarism:

  1. Copying: Using identical or very similar wording, ideas, or concepts from any source (e.g., books, articles, reports, presentations, artwork, designs, software, websites, or other electronic resources) without proper acknowledgment or quotation marks.

  2. Inappropriate Paraphrasing: Slightly altering words or phrases while retaining the original structure, progression of ideas, or content without proper citation.

  3. Inappropriate Citation: Citing sources not directly read, without acknowledging the secondary source from which the information was obtained.

  4. Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one’s own previously written work, either in full or in part, as new findings without referencing the original work.

If plagiarism is detected, the submitted paper will be rejected, and the author will face a minimum suspension of one year from submitting to the journal.
